The kashteshi tree is native to Africa and is a softwood shrub or small tree up to 3 meters tall. This semi-evergreen, tall perennial shrub/tree grows 8-15 feet above the ground in mild conditions (hardy in zones 9-11).

The fleshy and flat leaves are rounded, 1/2″ to 3/4″ long. The opposite leaves are glossy emerald green, shiny and fleshy, and grow on reddish-brown stems with branching stems.

In late spring and early summer, plants produce small, conspicuous pink and white flowers. This is usually the case in their natural habitat. These flowers are rarely found in cultivation.
The flowers are borne in clusters along the ends of the branches. The star-shaped flowers are distinguished by their five-pointed petals and spreading stems.

You can use cactus mix or a specially made ceramic container that contains a large amount of poultry manure or squash.
Unglazed pots are preferred for evaporation of excess moisture. Although a south-facing window is the best indoor location, it can be influenced by the west or east.
Too much sun can cause the tips of the leaves to turn yellow or brown, which some people like.
For better development you may want to try this location. Once the danger of frost has passed, the plants can be moved outside during the growing season. Adjust the plant to the new environment slowly.
Common Bonsai Tree Species To Grow

Bring it back inside when nighttime temperatures drop below 40F. If there is little sun outside, it may lose some of its leaves when it goes indoors for the winter.
Shoots that are rigid and irregularly arranged will form buds if left unbranched. If not pruned, heavy branches will fall and new plants will start where they are rooted.
The elephant tree is drought tolerant, but will grow rapidly and magnificently if given adequate water.

Reduce watering in winter. Keep watering until the lower leaves start to shrivel. It may take several months until the internal environment is abnormally bright or warm. You can recoup the savings after the daylilies grow in the spring. Allow the soil to dry an inch before watering again.
Prune in spring and summer. Allow the cuttings to dry for a few days before rooting. They can root in water. Even cut leaves can take root during pruning or other activities.
Avoid petroleum based chemicals. If you’re not sure, try on a few leaves first to make sure it doesn’t hurt.
Heavy feeder Use a balanced formula (such as 20-20-20), full-strength fertilizer, weekly during the growing season and monthly during the slow season. If you don’t have time or are likely to forget – use a time-release fertilizer.

At first glance it may be difficult to identify this plant as a good bonsai subject, so take a second look.
Use their fleshy leaves and branches as a storehouse. They can survive in relatively poor soil and prefer to dry out between waterings.
If you are growing outside during the rainy season, move the “small leaf litter” to the bottom of the house hole (or similar dry area) and water as needed. They don’t need daily rain, especially if they’ve been built recently.
