Nail Envy Dry And Brittle – I’m excited to finally share the results of my 10-day trial of OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener (complete with before and after pictures)! You see, lately my dominant right nails have been very brittle and I wanted to try this popular product in hopes of reshaping it!
Nail Envy’s best-selling range is the original formula, but OPI also has several formulas to target specific nail concerns. I chose Nail Envy Moisturizing Formula for Dry and Brittle Nails (red bottle). Although my nails seem very strong and grow normally, I can definitely feel the breakage. If I hit something by accident, my nail usually breaks or cracks. I was hoping that a moisturizing formula would restore flexibility to dry and brittle nails. My results to follow…but first let’s take a look at my before and after pictures!!

Before I started using Nail NV, my right hand was bad.
Opi Nail Treatment
The instructions say to apply two coats, then an additional coat every other day. After a week, you have to remove everything and start the process again. Since I change my nail color a lot, I couldn’t follow their plan… so I did two coats, then the nail color- and left it on the next day. On the third day, I removed all the polish and applied two more coats of Nail Envy, then my nail color etc. Raise layers for one week as recommended. I decided to test the product this way for 10 days…
After looking at the pictures, my nails look uniform and long. But how do I know this product really works…
Day 2 – I hit a metal device really hard and got a little snafu on the middle finger of my right hand. Hitting the nail caused a top layer on my tip. Owl is pretty typical of my routine, “Man, I broke my nail!”… but remember, I only had one application of the product this time. After I peeled off the chipped layer, I decided not to sand it, just to clear it, I still used Nail NV. I was fascinated by how the raw treated area softened and healed over time! Within a few days the surface of the area looked more even and the scaly layers seemed to be coming back together!
Day 8 – I hit the wall half asleep. I don’t know what happened, but I do know it was about my evil cat Fergie. My finger and nail bed hurt, so I turned on the light to assess the damage to the nail (it was the same nail that was hit the second day). To my surprise – no damage! My nail needs to absorb shock without bending, breaking, or cracking! I left pink polish on the wall and my finger hurt like hell, but my nails were fine. I went back to bed with a smile.

Day 9 – OK, I’m starting to sound like a big klutz – but I picked something up and it slipped out of my hand… and the nail on my left middle finger bent back! Oh- don’t you hate it when that happens? It gives me the heebie-jeebies just thinking about it. But I’m so glad I didn’t cut my nail! He just leaned back and returned to normal. Very impressive.
